St. Michael school is currently registering new students for the 2009-2010 school year. Please call Ms. Barbara Lee at 773-221-0212 between the hours of 8:30 and 2:30 if you would like more information or a personal interview to learn more about how your child(ren) might benefit from a Catholic education at St. Michael. You may also e-mail Ms. Lee at bclee@stmichaelsouthshore.org. Please note that we do all that we can to offer financial assistance if needed. Ms. Lee can give you more information about tuition and assistance. Please note that all tuition and fees may be paid to Mrs. Bertha Sandoval in the school office during the school day. We accept cash, checks, and credit card payments.

Welcome to St. Michael School ...
Welcome to St. Michael Elementary School, a community of learners where quality education is provided within the context of Christian living. With the tradition of Catholic education as the foundation for our existence, we promote academic excellence and the Gospel values of justice and peace. The families and staff members of St. Michael School take pride in the rich diversity of culture, language, and ethnic origin which encourages a global concern for all peoples of the earth.
We align our academic curriculum with state standards and endeavor to incorporate best practices throughout the instructional program. St. Michael School is certified by the Archdiocese of Chicago and has received full recognition by the Illinois State Board of Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Situated in the neighborhood of South Chicago, the school is two blocks from the Metra Station, thus providing a convenient location for parents who travel into the city for employment. An Extended Day Program that begins at 7:00 A.M. and remains open until 6:00 P.M. is another convenience that is offered to working parents as is the breakfast and lunch program that is subsidized by federal funding.
New Students ...
Every new student entering school must have completed immunization forms and health exam on file in the secretary’s office before you will be permitted to enter school. These include pre-schoolers, Kindergarteners, second and fifth graders. Those students who are continuing students at St. Michael must submit updated immunization forms, health exam, and dental records.
Todo estudiante nuevo debe lllenar la roma de imunizacion, asegurar que toda vacuna este al dia y regresarla antes de empezar las clases, el 25 de agosto del presente. Los demas estudiantes deben de reviser que sus imunizaciones tambien esten al dia.
- Book and Supplies fees are due during the month of July as is the Registration fee if it has not yet been paid. Fees can be paid in the Pastoral Center just left of the school building. If you have not completed your payment of tuition from the 2008-2009 school year or your extended day fees, that must be done before your child returns to school.
