Welcome to St. Michael Elementary School, a community of learners where quality education is provided within the context of Christian living. With the tradition of Catholic education as the foundation for our existence, we promote academic excellence and the Gospel values of justice and peace. The families and staff members of St. Michael School take pride in the rich diversity of culture, language, and ethnic origin which encourages a global concern for all peoples of the earth.

We align our academic curriculum with state standards and endeavor to incorporate best practices throughout the instructional program. St. Michael School is certified by the Archdiocese of Chicago and has received full recognition by the Illinois State Board of Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Situated in the neighborhood of South Chicago, the school is two blocks from the Metra Station, thus providing a convenient location for parents who travel into the city for employment. An Extended Day Program that begins at 7:00 A.M. and remains open until 6:00 P.M. is another convenience that is offered to working parents as is the breakfast and lunch program that is subsidized by federal funding.

Bienvenidos a la Escuela Primaria San Miguel, una comunidad de estudiantes donde se imparte educacion de calidad en el contexto de la vida Cristiana. Dentro de la Educacion Catolica como la fundacion para nuestra existencia, nostros promovemos excelencia academica y valores del Evangelio de justicia y de paz. Las familias y miembros de nuestro personal de la Escula de San Miguel estámos orgullosos de la rica diversidad de cultura, lenguaje, y origen etnico que fomenta y concierne a toda las personas de la tierra.

Nosotros aliniamos nuestro curriculum adademico con los estandars del estado e incorporamos las mejores practicas dentro del programa de instruccíon. La Escuela de San Miguel esta certificada por la Arquidiocesis de Chicago y a recibido reconocimiento de la Junta de Educacion del Estado de Illinois y la Asocicacion Nacional de Educacion de Pequeños Alumnos.

Situada en el vencindario de Sur Chicago, la escuela está a dos cuadras de la Estacíon del Metra, así proeviendo conveniente locacíon para padres que viajan al centro de la cuidad por sus empleos. Programa de cuidados antes y depúes de la escuela empezando a las 7:00 A.M. y permaneciento abierta hasta las 6:00 P.M. es otra conveniencia que se ofrece a padres que trabajan como tambíen el desayuno y almuerzo que es patrocinado por el gobierno federal.
